Job Title: Sr. Product Marketing Manager
Location: Foster City

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager at MarketLive, you will contribute to the growth of MarketLive’s leadership position in the e-commerce marketplace by being responsible for all outbound product marketing activities designed to increase market awareness and sales.  These activities will include go-to market planning, positioning, messaging, product launches, sales/partner enablement, press and analyst interactions, and market analysis. This role functions as a key product and market expert for the company works closely with all other marketing functions and other key customer facing roles to meet revenue, marketshare and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Driving the Product Strategy & Messaging

    • Work closely with Product Management, Marketing and the Executive team to define product strategy based on market, competitive and customer input.

    • Drive product messaging for ML target segments including merchant and consumer needs, compelling solutions and differentiators.

    • Collaborate and drive messaging across ML organization, including Sales, marketing, product management, product development and professional services.

  • Launching New Products

    • Develop go-to-market plan for new products and releases

    • Drive cross-functional efforts to successfully bring new products to market including communication to internal audiences, press, analysts, partners, customers, and the market

    • Responsible for pricing, packaging and promotions for ML products and services

  • Enabling the Sales Organization

    • Drive sales and pre-sales enablement efforts on an ongoing basis

    • Develop presentations, sales tools and information for sales and professional services teams

    • Scale market and competitive information across the ML organization

  • Understanding the Market / Competition

    • Viewed as an expert on market needs, niche verticals, and the things that make various customer segments unique

    • Strong understanding of ML competition and how to innovate to surpass the competition

    • Act as the product champion and spokesperson internally and externally, attending industry events to act as product evangelist and subject matter expert.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow and analyze industry trends, as well as collect and research competitive information to ensure MarketLive’s products maintain their leadership position.

  • Drive go-to-market planning and execution, as well as product launches

  • Develop product messaging and presentations for ML target segments including merchant and consumer needs, compelling solutions and differentiators

  • Drive pricing and packaging for ML products and services, including policy,  processes and promotions

  • Drive roll-out of product messaging, information and tools to sales and professional services

  • Collaborate with Marketing on production of product and customer-related collateral

  • Develop and roll-out market and competitive assessments for ML

  • Participate in trade shows, professional events and analyst briefings, representing MarketLive and promoting its products.

  • This position requires about 5 to 10% travel (domestic travel to other MarketLive offices and customer sites).

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success with creative approaches to messaging and positioning

  • Strong customer, market and value orientation

  • Proven track record as a product marketer - complete life cycles of winning products in a fast-paced environment (prefer start-up experience)

  • At least 2 years of experience in e-commerce or related field (ideal but not a deal breaker)

  • At least 5 years product marketing experience in software companies, preferably enterprise software.

  • Team player with demonstrated leadership and presentation / communication skills.

  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, computer science or related field. Masters degree in marketing or MBA is a plus

  • U.S. work authorization is required.
