Job Title: Sr. Product Manager Location: Foster City
As a Senior Product Manager at MarketLive, you will contribute to the growth of MarketLive’s leadership position in the e-commerce marketplace by advancing MarketLive’ products and maximizing the value they bring to our customers. You will take part in a variety of product management activities related to the development of our core e-commerce application and platform. These activities will include product strategy, market requirements, product requirements, and product roll-out.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assume product(s)/release(s) ownership, including defining strategy, priorities, scope and requirements for new products and for releases of existing products.
- Collect and research customer needs, identify and generalize common needs between customers, and determine priorities.
- Manage cross-functional product release efforts including requirements, specification, R&D, marketing, sales training, etc.
- Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships with third-party software providers to complement MarketLive’s product strategy.
- Author clear product-related documentation, such as marketing material, product requirements documents, feature descriptions for sales, etc.
- Follow and analyze industry trends, as well as collect and research competitive information to ensure MarketLive’s products maintain their leadership position.
- Participate in trade shows and professional events representing MarketLive and promoting its products.
- Support marketing and sales activities by providing product knowledge, guidance, and training.
- This position requires about 5 to 10% travel (domestic travel to other MarketLive offices and customer sites).
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering, computer sciences, or related field. Masters degree in marketing or engineering is a plus (including MBA).
- Proven track record as a product manager leading complete life cycles of winning products in a fast-paced environment (prefer start-up experience)
- At least 2 years of experience in e-commerce or related field (ideal but not a deal breaker)
- At least 5 years product management experience in software companies, preferably enterprise software.
- Proven ability to initiate and author comprehensive requirement specifications for software products (PRDs). Should be able to provide examples of work products.
- A strong plus if familiarity with some/all of the following; e-commerce servers, PCI & Security, Java / J2EE, web services (XML/SOAP), open source technologies, web-based graphical user interfaces, and relational databases (i.e. to a level allowing technical discussions with engineering teams and external developers)
- Team player with demonstrated leadership and presentation / communication skills.
- U.S. work authorization is required.
